The Diaconate
​(Deacons)

Deacons serve approximately ten households which may include both members and frequent visitors.
The mission of the Diaconate is to:
  • love and nurture others as God loves and cares for us;
  • and care for others who may not have the ability to care for themselves.
A deacon commits to:
  • pray for the people in their parish,
  • inform the pastor of persons or situations needing special attention,
  • minister to special needs (e.g. grief, loss, death, illness, hospitalization)
  • respond in celebration (e.g. birthdays, anniversaries),
  • and, by request, serve communion to members confined to their homes.
