



Children’s Church

An opportunity for children through 1st grade to nurture their faith with adult leaders while the sermon is presented. Children are escorted to the Faith Ministry Building by their leaders following the Time with the Younger Church and brought back in when their lesson concludes.
Vacation Bible School

VBS is an opportunity to make friends, sing songs, and eat supper while learning about Jesus and what it means to follow him. In 2025 we partnered with Church of the Nativity and met on their campus; we’ll continue that partnership and meet at NRPC in 2026.
Parent’s Night Out

Children enjoy fun and games while parents enjoy peace and quiet (or, more often, while NRPC parents enjoy an evening of fellowship).
Welcome to the Lord’s Table

Though geared for 2nd/3rd graders and their parents, this class is for anyone who wants to understand more about the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. New communicants will be welcomed to the table on World Communion Sunday. (Happens about every other year.)

Confirmation
📅 Sunday, November 23, 2025 | 🕥 10:30–11:30 a.m. | 📍 NRPC Sanctuary
Confirmation is an opportunity for young adults to affirm their faith and become formal members of Christ’s Church. 7th and 8th graders are specifically invited to participate; 7th graders or older are welcome to join in. We’ll have opportunities to worship, grow and serve as a group prior to the rite of confirmation. For 2025 there will be independent work with mentors as well as a weekend intensive experience from Friday evening November 7 through early afternoon November 8. Our next confirmation class will gather in 2027.
Cornerstone Sunday School Class

This curriculum-based class uses The Present Word, an adult Bible study curriculum that surveys the arc of scripture over a six-year period.
Pioneer Sunday School Class

This class reads and discusses books and articles with a focus on growing a faith that is engaged in the world.
Men’s Bible Study

NRPC men gather for study, conversation and prayer. Their study is around the focus Bible passage for the upcoming Sunday.
Women’s Bible Study

Any and all women are invited to gather and study scripture under Candy Tedrick’s leadership.
Thursday Morning Bible Study

This gathering studies sermon texts ten days prior to the day the text will be preached. We use a 3-fold adaptation of lectio divina where the first reading is for comprehension, the second is focused on preaching and the third is for personal response. Contact Lisa Hebacker for more information.
Women’s Retreat

NRPC Women’s Retreats offer the opportunity for discussion, meditation, prayer, bible study, reflection, relaxation and fellowship. Retreats have taken place locally and at the beach.
Nifty Sixties

Retirement-aged folks gather almost monthly for a pot luck lunch, fellowship and maybe a program or presentation. Kim Stall and Sally Thompson host us.
Ladies’ Morning Coffee

Initially begun as a Women’s Retreat re-union gathering, this fellowship opportunity is open to anyone who wants to gather with other women from NRPC.
Fellowship with Books

Once the book-list is established in September, church friends who enjoy reading gather monthly to discuss what they’ve read. The book-list spans multiple genres and publication years.
The Gathering

Wednesday nights we will gather for fellowship, fun and food. Dinner starts at 5:45 p.m. and various groups around the congregation lead short activities for children, youth and adults.
Annual Picnic

The first Sunday of June is near the anniversary of NRPC’s charter, so each year we gather to celebrate with an all-church picnic.
Lunch and Learn

NRPC Deacons sponsor these gatherings to inform and equip our congregation and community. The Fall 2025 Lunch and Learn will be led by a staff person from the North Carolina Attorney General’s office who will help us become more careful consumers in a digital age.
Stephen Ministry

This caring ministry connects trained care-givers with individuals wanting a prayerful companion through a season of their life. We are part of a consortium of churches for the training and supervision of Stephen Ministers. For more information, contact Stacy Askew.

All middle and high school youth are welcome to attend and bring a friend to youth group. Each gathering includes food, games, and Bible study. This year we're studying Great Expectations and figuring out what it means to be the church Jesus expects.

Fellowship with Books is a monthly gathering for women to connect and discuss popular literature. All ladies of the church are welcome to attend and enjoy lively conversation and warm fellowship.

Children enjoy fun and games while parents enjoy peace and quiet. PNO happens on the third Friday of each month (excluding July/August).
